Consideration is given to radioactive fallout as a result of the resumption of nuclear weapons testing. Discussion is given on types and sources of radiation exposure from fallout, assess ment of the hazard from fallout originating from earlier and recent tests, possible consequences of explosion of a 50-megaton bomb, and arrangements for monitoring and assessing the fallout situation. Measurements of I/sup 131/ in milk recorded in various regions of the United Kingdom on October 1 and 15, 1961, are appended. (P.C.H.)
