THE DEVELOPMENT OF OPTIMUM MANUFACTURING METHODS FOR COLUMBIUM ALLOY SHEET. Interim Technical Engineering Report, January 1, 1962-September 30, 1962

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4763144
Sheet has been produced from the F48 and D31 alloys in widths up to 24 in. and thicknesses from 0.020 to 0.063 in. Sizes to 36 in. x 96 in. seem feasible for both alloys. Processing of F48 sheet is both difficult and expensive owing to special techniques required. The D31 alloy can be processed to high quality sheet with only minor modifications of conventional techniques. Better flatness and surface finish can be obtained for the D31 alloy than for F48.
