ON OVERHAUSER EFFECT IN A LOW MAGNETIC FIELD (in Russian)

The case of a paramagnetic salt is considered when nuclei of paramagnetic atoms have spins. Overhauser effect is discussed both for splitting of the fine structure and for splitting caused by anisotropic hyperfine structure. According to Kittel and Abraham in the absence of an external magnetic field only alignment of nuclei is obtained at the saturation of the paramagnetic resonance. It is enough, however, to apply a low external field to the sample to obtain an appreciable polarization of the nuclei. The expression for the parameters f/sub 1/ and f/sub 2/ is obtained at the saturation of one of the components of fine or hyperfine structure. (auth)
