EFFECT OF THE HIGH ALTITUDE THERMONUCLEAR EXPLOSION OF JULY 9, 1962, ON THE RESONANCE OF THE EARTH-IONOSPHERE CAVITY. INTERPRETATION (in French)

Journal Article · · Compt. Rend.
OSTI ID:4761118
The lowering of the resonance frequencies of the earthionosphere cavity, subsequent to the thermonuclear explos;on July 9, 1962, can be explained by an increase in the ionization of low levels of the ionosphere provoked by the penetration of high energy particles. A graphic method permits the order of magnitude in this increase to be obtained. (tr-auth)
