RESULTS OF RIOMETER MEASUREMENTS AT ROCKPORT, MASSACHUSETTS, DURING THE HIGH-ALTITUDE NUCLEAR EXPLOSION ON JULY 9, 1962

Journal Article · · Journal of Geophysical Research (U.S.)
The results of riometer measurements at Rockport, Massachusetts, are given for a period of time before, during, and after the detonation of a 1.4- megaton nuclear device over Johnston Island on July 9, 1962. The results indicate an increased absorption by the ionosphere of normal atmospheric noise. Explanations are proposed for this phenomenon. (R.E.U.)
