A C/sup 12/ target was bombarded with tritium at 1.75 Mev using a 2.00- Mev Van de Graaff accelerator. The angular distributions of neutrons leaving N/ sup 14/ in the ground state, first excited state, and second excited state were measured. The angular distributions indicated that a direct interaction model is more applicable than a compound nucleus model. (auth)
