The electron density of plasma was measured by the interferometer method in the 8 mm wave region. Measurements of microwave radiation were carried out by using an 8.7 Bc/sec Dicke radiometer with 40 Mc/sec bandwidth and a sensitivity of 1012 mw. The plasma was a section of the positive column of a d-c hot- cathode discharge in neon at 80 mu Hg pressure. A schematic diagram of the experimental setup and curves of the microwave power as a function of discharge current are shown.
