CASSETTE ARRANGEMENT FOR HETEROGENEOUS POWER REACTORS WITH THE CASSETTE CONTAINING THE FUEL ELEMENTS (in German)

A new cassette arrangement for heterogeneous power reactors was proposed with the purpose of obtaining an improved and more controlled burn-up of the fuel elements. The arrangement is so set-up that the cassettes have a rectangular or sphenoid cross section and are introduced in corner sectors of the fission zone from the outside to the inside from a tangential bearing to a radial bearing, The sector points are therefore arranged radially in the fission zone. The sectors form one or more almost closed cassette rings entirely penetrated by coolart channels. (J.S.R.)
