Balance of Potassium, Rubidium and Cæsium between Japanese People and Diet and Assessments of their Biological Half-Times
The balance of K, Rb, and Cs between Japanese people and diet was determined from measurements on human soft tissues, muscles, and bones and analysis of the average diet of Japanese people. The biological half-time of K was calculated as 54 days, of Rb 140 days, and of Cs 76 days. Applications of the data in determining the levels of radionuelides of the alkali metals in man are discussed.
