THE MEASUREMENT OF RADIOACTIVE CONTAMINATION ON HANDS AND FEET

Journal Article · · Nucl. Instr. Methods
There is a need for simple instruments capable of rapid monitoring of beta contamination on hands and feet. For this reason hand and foot monitors were designed using large areas of thin plastic scintillators. Except in the case of contamination near the tolerance level a decision is rapidly made. The same kind of decision circuit was also used in a hand alpha monitor employing a zinc sulfide scintillator. (auth)
