A SYNCHRONISING DISCRIMINATOR FOR SCINTILLATION COUNTER PULSES

Journal Article · · Nucl. Instr. Methods
An amplitude discriminator circuit is described which is suitable for use with pulses from fast scintillation counters, One part of the circuit provides an output pulse which is closely synchronized to the input pulse over a wide range of amplitude. The output of this circuit is gated by that of a conventional tunnnel diode discriminator. The combination forms a synchronizing discriminator whose output pulse has been shown to shift by less than l nanosecond when the input pulse amplitude is varied from 8 to 60 ma. (auth)
