Since, at the water surface in the Merlin tank, the share of the total dose rate originating from fast neutrons lies far under 5 x 10/sup -1/ mrem/hr and the contribution from the thermal neutrons amount to 1.2 x 10/sup -4/ mrem/hr these two shares could be neglected in comparison with the dose rate of 35 mrem/ hr caused by gamma radiation. The total dose rate at the water reflector in the tank amounts therefore to a maximum of 35 mrem/hr and originates exclusively from gamma radiation. (tr-auth)
