PRODUCTION OF $pi$$sup +$ PHOTOMESONS IN THE ANGULAR RANGE 25-36 AND IN THE ENERGY INTERVAL 152-162 Mev (in Russian)

The differential cross section for the photoproduction of pi /sup +/ mesons with a momentum transfer (k omega -kq cos theta ) close to the threshold value of 0.93 was investigated. The relative pion and photon momenta are k'' and q'' respectively, while omega '' is the center-of-mass energy of the pion. A film of polyethylene, 200 microns thick, was used as the target while an emulsion served as the detector. The cross section was measured for photons ranging in energy from 153.4 to 160.8 Mev. For this energy range the differential cross section was found to vary from 0.32 to 0.39 10/sup -29/ cm/sup 2//sterad. The experimentaily measured values were found to agree with those calculated from theory. (TTT)
