REGGE POLE MODEL FOR HIGH-ENERGY p-p AND p-p SCATTERING

Journal Article · · Phys. Rev. Letters
A realistic model is presented of p-p and p-p scattering, using the vacuum Regge pole trajectory (P), a second vacuum trajectory related to the p-p total cross section (P'), and an omega trajectory to give the big difference in p-p and d-p scattering. The data predictions from the model are compared to data from the one-pole model from 3 to 30 Bev/c. It is concluded that the three-pole model fits qualitatively the existing data on high-energy p-p and p-p scattering in its range of validity, and that one-pole analyses need certain corrections but remain qualitatively valid.
