CATTLE AND SHEEP THYROID ACTIVITY SHOWING AN ABNORMAL DECAY

Measurements were made of the radioactivity of a large number of thyroid glands from cattle and sheep from different regions of Portugal. Results are summarized. Radioactivity present had a half-life of about 11 days, which is greater than the half-life of I/sup 131/. The activities measured were too low for the identification of radionuclides. (C.H.)
