RELATIVE E1 TRANSITION PROBABILITIES IN STRONGLY DEFORMED ODD NUCLEI
The intensities of relative E1 transitions going from a given state to various rotational states in the strongly deformed odd nuclei Lu/sup 175/, Hf/sup 177/, and Yb/sup 173/ show a large discrepancy with predictions by Alaga's rules. This discrepancy is shown to be removed on the basis of the Nilsson model by considering the rotation particle coupling. Energy spectra of the nuclei and ratios of the intensities of the gamma transitions are presented and discussed. (H.D.R.)
