General formulas for the angular distribution and for the polarization of recoil nuclei in the capture of partially polarized mu /sup -/ mesons were obtained for the unique and nonunique 0 yields J transitions. The results are expressed in terms of the Morita-- Fujii nuclear matrix elements. The calculation of the polarization of the B/sup 12/ ground state in the muon capture on C/sup 12/ was made for different values of the induced pseudoscalar constant and weak magnetism. (auth)
