AMPEROMETRIC TITRATION OF LANTHANUM BY FERROCYANIDE

Lanthanum nitrate solutions were titrated with a standard solution of potassium ferrocyanide at the dropping mercury electrode at a potential of -- 1.58 v. The two solutions react in the ratio of I:I with the formation of the compound LaKFe(CN)/sub 6/. Amperometric titration of La(NO/sub 3/)/sub 3/ and K/ sub 4/Fe(CN)/sub 6/ affords a sensitive method for the estimation of lanthanum. (auth)
