AMPEROMETRIC TITRATION OF ZIRCONYL CHLORIDE WITH POTASSIUM FERROCYANIDE

Amperometric titrations of zirconyl chloride with potassium ferrocyanide were carried out by the dropping mercury electrode at a potential of -1.8 v. The reaction of the two compounds takes place in the ratio of 2: 1 with the formation of (ZrO)/sub 2/Fe(CN)/sub 6/. This affords a sensitive method for the estimation of zirconium in zirconyl solutions. (auth)
