HIGH-TEMPERATURE THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY OF URANIUM DIOXIDE

Technical Report ·
DOI:https://doi.org/10.2172/4749758· OSTI ID:4749758
A theoretical investigation of the high-temperature thermal conductivity of UO/sub 2/ was conducted to find an explanation for earlier experimental data which indicate that conductivity in UO/ sub 2/ increases with temperature above about 1500 deg C. It is felt improbable that radiation conductivity could be large enough to account for these results; free carrier conductivity might be. Further work upon which to base conclusions is suggested.
