THE ANNEALING OF IODIDE HAFNIUM

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4749324
The effects of heat treatments on the hardness of cold rolled hafnium is described. Equations and curves for predicting hardness after heat treatments of varying periods of time at temperatures of 750, 800, and 850 deg C for cold reductions up to 25% in 5% increments are presented. Other curves are provided that estimate annealing times in the temperature range 850to 950 deg C. Data were utilized to estimate activation energies for the annealing process. (H.G.G.)
