PHOTOREDUCTION OF THE URANYL ION ON THE STRONGLY BASIC ANION EXCHANGER

Reduction of the uranyl ion on the strongly basic anion exchanger Dowex 1 was investigated. The reduction was found to be promoted by sunlight and ultraviolet light. The process does not depress the exchange capacity of the resin, which means that its active groups do not become oxidized in it. (auth)
