POLARIZATION OF $gamma$-RAYS FROM THE REACTION Si$sup 30$(p,$gamma$)P$sup 3$$sup 1$ (in Russian)

Photographic emulsions impregnated with heavy water are used to measure the plane polarization of gamma rays from the reaction Si/sup 30/(p, gamma )P/ sup 31/. For energies E/sub p/ = 773, 939, and 979.5 kev, a study is made of transitions from resonance levels to the ground level of the nucleus P/sup 31/(3/ 2/sup +/ yields 1/2/sup +/). The coefficients of the mixture delta for different types of transitions came out, respectively, to -2.3, -0.15, and -1.8. For the energy E/sub p/ = 1393 kev, a study is made of the transition to the first excited level 1.26 Mev (3/2/sup +/). Spin and parity of the resonance level came out to 5/2/sup +/, and delta = 0.02. (auth)
