Results of an investigation of temperature dependence on the tensile strength of Nb single crystals in the temperature range 77 to 293 deg K are reported. The tensile strength is highiy temperature dependent below 213 deg K, but only one of the crystals tested at 77 deg K failed by cleavage. A study of the recrystallization behavior of electron beam melted Nb was conducted. The time-temperature relationship for the beginning of recrystallization is described. (H.G.G.)
