MUONIC /lambda/$sup 0$ DECAY

Journal Article · · Phys. Rev. Letters
A clear-cut example of the decay LAMBDA /sup 0/ yields p/sup +/ + mu /sup -/ + nu ha s been observed in an exposure of a hydrogen bubble chamber to a beam of 1.12 Bev/c pi /sup -/ mesons. The LAMBDA /sup 0/ is produced in association with a K/sup 0/ meson which decays via pi /sup +/ pi /sup -/. Measured and fitted data are presented for the evert, and various other interpretations are examined and shown to have low probabilities. (H.D.R.)
