A 235 MW (el.) ROCK VESSEL REACTOR POWER PLANT

Journal Article · · ASEA (Allmanna Svenska Elektriska Aktiebolaget) Res.
OSTI ID:4742737
A brief description is given of a nuclear power-station with one rock vessel reactor and an electrical output of 235 Mw. The reactor is of the gas- cooled, graphitemoderated type, and the fuel is natural uranium in the form of magnesium-clad metallic rods. The pressure vessel consists of a rock chamber with an inner liner of steel-clad concrete. A comparison is drawn between the rock vessel reactor and the above-ground version of the gas-cooled, graphite- moderated reactor. (auth)
