$gamma$$-$$gamma$ COINCIDENCE MEASUREMENTS ON Re$sup 18$$sup 9$

Journal Article · · Phys. Letters

Direct and coincident gamma -spectra measurements were made on a rhenium sample prepared from an alphabombarded tungsten target. The single gamma spectrum of Re/sup 183/ Re/sup 184/, and Re/sup 189/ is plotted, and the gamma - gamma coincidences observed are summarized. Three gamma lines at 211, 568, and 671 kev were assumed to originate from the isotope Re/sup 189/. Its half life is estimated to be about 120 days, and a possibie decay scheme for Re/ sup 189/ is proposed. (H.D.R.)
