MAGNETOACOUSTIC RESONANCE IN A CYLINDRICAL PLASMA (in German)

Journal Article · · Helvetica Physica Acta (Switzerland)
OSTI ID:4742632
Magnetoacoustical waves were produced in a cylindrical geometry, and observations were made which were in quantitative agreement with a theory proposed for partial ionization. A new diagnostic method is given which permits the determination of the ionization degree in a partially ionized plasma and of the temperature in a completely ionized plasma. The measurements show that under the parameters required from theory, resonance is always present. Typical curves are shown. (J.S.R.)
