SECOND BORN APPROXIMATION FOR ELECTRON AND POSITRON SCATTERING BY NUCLEI

The second Born approximation is evaluated for the elastic scattering of a point fermion by the Coulomb field of a fixed nucleus. Experimental results are compared with this approximation for the cases of electron (+ or -) scattering by (electron incident energies in parentheses, in Mev): C/sup 12/ (420); C/sup 12/(800); Co/sup 59/(183); Co/sup 59/ (300); and H/sup 2/(1000).
