CORRELATION OF THE MULTIPLE PENETRATING PARTICLES WITH EXTENSIVE AIR SHOWERS

Journal Article · · J. Phys. Soc. Japan
OSTI ID:4739559
An array of cloud chambers and scintillation counters was used to measure the distribution of multiple penetrating panticles and mu mesons associated with extensive air showers, The results lead to the conclusion that multiple penetrating particles can be approximately interpreted as the mu -meson component having a density of >7/m/sup 2/ contained in air showers.
