RESULTS OF MEASURING OF ATMOSPHERIC FALLOUT IN THE YEARS 1961-1962 AND THE QUESTION OF THE INCREASE IN ITS ACTIVITY IN SPRING

Journal Article · · Cesk. Casopis Fys.

Measurements of monthly fallout in Czechoslovakia in 1961 and 1962 were iaade with the objective of determining phenomena in various seasons. It was found that an increase in fallout occurred in the September and October period against that in August 1961, which was of the order of tenths mc/km/sup 2/, and continued to increase in April and May period 1962 when it reached 59.30 mc/km/ sup 2/. It began to decrease in June. Samples of fallout taken during the spring season 1962 did not contain fresh fission products, proving the theory of interdependence between air movement in stratosphere and its penetration into the troposphere in spring to be correct.
