Tritium fallout over North America from the Soviet tests in 1961

Journal Article · · Journal of Geophysical Research
Measurements made over North America in late 1961 and early 1962 indicate a major increase of tritium fallout that began in late Oct. 1961. The increase continued through the winter and reached a peak in the spring of 1962. The increase of tritium fallout in the coastal areas is relatively low compared with the sharp increase in the interior of the continent. The tritium concentration in surface waters of North America is also shown.
