SOME FEATURES OF NUCLEAR INTERACTIONS OF ENERGY BETWEEN 10$sup 12$ AND 10$sup 15$ ev

Journal Article · · J. Phys. Soc. Japan
OSTI ID:4739030

The energy spectrum of electromagnetic cascades produced by nuclear active particles was determined from emulsion stacks flown at altitudes of 220 g/ cm/sup 2/ and 8 to 28 g/cm/sup 2/. The results do not confirm the change in exponent of the nuclear spectrum previously reported at 1500 < E < 4000 Bev. The interaction mean free path of nuclear particles producing cascades in the energy range 400 to 1500 Bev was found to be 39 plus or minus 12 cm in G-5 emulsion. (A.G.W.)
