The bleeding and clotting time, plasma recaicification time, heparin tolerance, free heparin, prothrombin consumption, activity of plasmatic factors of thromboplastin, thromboplastin-generation test, activity of proaccelerin and proconvertin, blood clot retraction, thrombocyte count, and in some cases the content of serotonin were studied in 70 persons subjected to chronic occupational x irradiation. Prolongation of the recalcification time, decrease of prothrombin consumption, activity of plasmatic factors of thromboplastin, and impairment of thromboplastin formation were recorded. Less pronounced were the diminution of serotonin, activity of proaccelerin and proconvertin, prothrombin time, and reparin tolerance. Clot retraction and free heparin did not change. (P.C.H.)
