THE DETERMINATION OF TANTALUM AND NIOBIUM IN HIGH-GRADE MINERALS AND ORES
ABS>A relatively rapid method is proposed for determining Ta and Nb in minerals and ores. The method is based on Schoeller and Powell's method for the separation of Ta and Nb from the ore, and on the spectrophotometric measurement of their pyrogallol complexes. The amounts of Ta and Nb are read off from the calibration graphs for known mixtures of Ta/sub 2/O/sub 5/ and Nb/sub 2/O/sub 5/. (D.L.C.)
