Measurements of the fluorescence lifetimes were made at 25 deg C, 0 deg C, and 77 deg K for terbium trianthranilate and europium tris-dibenzoylmethide, and at 25 deg C and 77 deg K for the terbium and europium chlorides. The lifetimes for the chelates were found to be more than twice as iong as these for the corresponding chlorides. The fluorescence spectra of the chelates were aiso compared with these of the chlorides. (D.L.C.)
