A LOW ENERGY SURVEY METER

Journal Article · · Health Physics (England)
OSTI ID:4732948
A very sensitive thin end-window portable ion chamber instrument was developed for measuring low intensities of x and gamma rays of energy less than 100 kev. A vibrating reed and a transistorized electrometer circuit is used to achieve high sensitivity and stability, and an anti-saturation circuit is also incorporated. The instrument covers a range of 0 to 300 mr/hr, and its spectral response is within ction in DDT-C/ 10% from 30 kev to 1.3 Mev with an end cap and within ction in DDT-C/ 15% from 6.5 kev to 1.3 Mev without the cap.
