Solvent extraction of uranyl nitrate by solutions of benzene in simple ethers (dibutyl, dipropyl, ethylpropyl and methylbenzyl) was studied. It was found that with constant aqueous phase equilibrium the uranyl nitrate coefficient logarithm shows a linear dependence on the molar fraction of free extraction agent. It was also found that the dilution of benzene with ether reduces the number of water molecules hydrating uranyl nitrates in the organic phase. A correlation of solvate and hydrate numbers revealed the total amount of uranyl nitrate hydrosolvates. (R.V.J.)
