Note on a spill beam from the 88-inch cyclotron

It was found that the application of a first harmonic of about 20 gauss to the magnetic field produced a high energy spill beam from the 88-inch cyclotron. Essentially all of the internal beam was removed radially in an azimuthal angular travel of 120 deg . No evidence was found ior any axial loss of beam during this process.
