The performance of an assembiy consisting of a slow neutron detector placed in an attenuating medium and acting as the transducer of a neutron isodose dosimeter was analyzed. It is shown that for a given paraffin sheath thickness on the BF/sub 3/ counter the energy dependence of the dose curve between 10/sup - 2/ to 10/sup 7/ ev does not exceed 50%. For expanded spectra the order of error is considerably smaller. The performance of detectors with cylindrical and spherical casings was studied, and it was found that the detectors possess high sensitivity for doses of 10/sup -3/ to 10/sup 2/ r with practically no response to gamma rays.
