Journal Article · · Food Irradiation
OSTI ID:4729349
Intensive studies were carried out on foodstuff sterilization involving radiologcal, bacteriological, and organoleptic tests; and the identification of the factors responsible for off-taste and off-flavor of irradiated food. The research was concerned mainly with various vegetables, especially potatoes, which can be prevented from germinating by low dosages of gamma radiation. The radiation equipment used is described.
