The site and main features of the La Crosse Boiling Water Reactor are described. The results of a safety evaluation are presented. The reactor, containment build. ing, power plant, instrumentation and control, electrical distribution, biological shielding, radioactive-waste dis posal system, radiation monitoring, environmental survey, and administrative and operational procedures are described. The safety characteristics, evaluation of possible accidents, maximum credible accident, and evacuation procedures are discussed. (M.C.G.)
