INVESTIGATION OF /cap ambda/-HYPERON AND K$sup 0$-MESON PRODUCTION EVENTS IN $pi$$sup -$p-INTERACTIONS AT ENERGY OF 7-8 Bev (in Russian)

Momentum and angular distributions of LAMBDA hyperons and K/sup o/ mesons in the c.m.s., and also of rature of the d -mesons involved in the production of the LAMBDA and K/sup o/ particles, are presented. The experimental distributions are compared with those computed by the statistical theory and single-meson diagrams. The angular and momentum distributions of particles accompanying the production of LAMBDA K/sup o/ and K/sup o/K/sup o/ pairs are compared with those of particles created in rature of the d /sup -/p interactions at 7 Bev without strange particle production. It is concluded that rature of the d /sup -/p interactions involving the creation of LAMBDA K/sup o/ and K/sup o/ K/sup o/ pairs are more central than the rature of the d /sup -/p interaction with the usual type of multiple pion production. Two types of rature of the d /sup -/p interaction with strange particle production are established, which are nominally called central'' and peripheral.'' (auth)
