The processes of LAMBDA ( SIGMA /sup 0/) hyperon and K/sup o/-meson generation in pi /sup -/p collisions were studied at the pi /sup -/ meson energy of 6.8 Bev. Cross sections for the production of LAMBDA ( SIGMA /sup 0/) and K/sup 0/, the relations between the cross sections for the generation of y/ sup 0/K and KK pairs, the average multiplicity of charged particles, the angular and momentum distributions of LAMBDA and K/sup 0/ in the center-of-mass system, and the distributions of the transverse momenta of LAMBDA and K/sup 0/ were obtained.
