INELASTIC SCATTERING OF DEUTERONS FROM STRONTIUM AND YTTRIUM

Journal Article · · Nuclear Physics (Netherlands) Divided into Nucl. Phys. A and Nucl. Phys. B
Targets of nntural Sr and Y are bombarded with 15-Mev deuterons. Scattered particles are magnetically analyzed and detected in nuclear emulsions. Angular distributions between 25 and 85 deg are obtained for the deuterons corresponding to Sr/sup 88/ levels at 1.835 and 2.74 Mev. Other Sr levels are observed at 0.85 Mev (probably the 0.889-Mev level of Sr/sup 87/), 1.11 plus or minus 0.02 Mev (probably the 1.080-Mev level of Sr/sup 86/), 3.20 plus or minus 0.05, 3.81 plus or minus 0.025, 4.02 plus or minus 0.025, and 4.27 plus or minus 0.03 Mev. Y exposures are made at 30, 80, and 85 deg . The fotlowing levels of Y/sup 89/ are observed: 1.510 plus or minus 0.010, 1.742 plus or minus 0.010, 2.227 plus or minus 0.010, 2.533 plus or minus 0.015, 2.886 plus or minus 0.015, 3.135 plus or minus 0.020, 3.74 plus or minus 0.02, 4.02 plus or minus 0.03, 4.20 plus or minus 0.03, 4.34 plus
