X-RAY INDUCED VISIBLE MUTATIONS IN HABROBRACON OOCYTES

Dominant lethal, recessive lethal, and visible mutations occur in similar percentages in primary oocytes of Habrobracon x-rayed in a resistant stage, first meiotic prophase (LD/sub 50/ = 12,000 r), and in a sensitive stage, first meiotic metaphase (LD/sub 50/ = 400 r), after comparable doses, 25,000 r and 1100 r respectively.
