Descriptions are given of an improved dry method for loparite concentrate chlorination at 900 to 1000 deg C. It is shown that chlorination is possible with concentrate containing 35% air and that carbon reduction in coke from 18 to 20 to 12 to 13% reduces the cinder by a factor of 5. (R.V.J.)
