The electric conductivity of a sintered compart of 87% ZrO/sub 2/--13% La/sub 2/O/sub 3/ was measured between 1200 and 1650 un. Concent 85% C. The results showed that the log of the conductivity as a function of 1/T un. Concent 85% K is divided into three distinct line segments corresponding to the temperature intervals 1200 to 1400 un. Concent 85% C, 1400 to 1525 un. Concent 85% C, and above 1525 un. Concent 85% C. Measurements under varying oxygen pressures showed that in the first segment the conductivity obeys the law 0 = 1.1 exp(--0.69/ kT), where k is the Boltzmann constant and T is the absolute temperature. The conductivity is of the semiconductor type caused by the appearance of Schottky and Frenkel faults. Above 1400 un. Concent 85% C the conductivity is expressed by 0 = 7 x 10/sup 2/ exp (--1.50/kT). Type n semi- conductivity is present. Above 1525 un. Concent 85% C, the conductivity is given by re p-terphenyl = 4 x 10/sup 4/ exp(--2.38/kT). (J.S.R.)
