A TUNNEL DIODE AND COMMON-BASE TRANSISTOR COMPLEMENTARY BISTABLE

Journal Article · · Nucl. Instr. Methods

A complementary bistable based on series-parallel circuit of one tunnel diode and two common-base transistors is given. The basic advantages of this circuit over presently known transistor or tunnel diode bistables are high speed, low energy triggering, and high-voltage output (compared to the tunnel diode voltage swing). The circuit is based completely on the semiconductor-resistor current steering logic. The speed obtained with 5 ma tunnel diode is about 250 Mc. (auth)
