Proton-deuteron interactions at 77 MeV

The Oxford 12-cm deuterium bubble chamber was used with the Harwell cyclotron to examine the interaction of 77-Mev protons with deuterons. An analysis based on 2000 events was presented. A total cross section of 146 plus or minus 7 mb and a total elastic cross section of 55 plus or minus 3 mb were obtained, with a cutoff applied at angles less than 10 deg to remove the forward scattering Coulomb peak.
